Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang anticipates that advances in computing over the next few years will keep the cost of developing artificial intelligence in check. He emphasized that the increasing speed of computers will reduce the total amount needed for AI development, thus driving down the cost. Huang's confidence in the chip industry's ability to produce faster and more cost-efficient chips contributes to his belief that the cost of AI will be kept in check.
But Nvidia doesn’t see an end to the increase in AI spending anytime soon. In his remarks, Huang estimated that the global cost of data centers powering AI will double in the next five years.
