The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather public input on the development of standards and guidelines for artificial intelligence (AI). As part of its commitment under a presidential Executive Order, NIST focuses on key aspects of AI, such as red-teaming, risk management in generative AI, and the mitigation of synthetic content risks. The goal is to ensure AI is developed and utilized in a safe, secure, and trustworthy manner. Stakeholders and the general public are encouraged to contribute their insights and expertise to help shape the future framework for AI technologies. Submissions are welcome until February 2, 2024, and will be made available for public review on www.regulations.gov. This collaborative effort aims to advance responsible AI practices on a global scale.
