McAfee has unveiled AI-powered technology aimed at detecting AI-generated deepfake audio used in scams. This technology is designed to protect consumers from cybercriminals who manipulate AI-generated audio to perpetrate scams and manipulate public perception. Project Mockingbird was introduced at CES 2024, with the goal of combatting the escalating threat posed by AI-generated scams.
McAfee's CTO, Steve Grobman, emphasized the company's commitment to protecting consumers from digital threats. The technology employs contextual, behavioral, and categorical detection models, achieving an impressive accuracy rate of over 90%.
